Using: Fentum onion swath pickup
Since 2021, De KMWP in Wilhelminapolder has been using a Varitron in combination with the Fentum onion swath pickup. De KMWP is a large farm with 1,490 hectares of farmland. They chose the Fentum onion swath pickup for higher efficiency and better use of their harvester.
"It has been a success from the start. We recouped the investment within one year."
— Johnny (driver at De KMWP)
Johnny: "I can control the depth setting from my cab. It is simply very easy to work with and fits seamlessly on any four-row harvester. For us it was easy to integrate and it allows us to switch quickly. If necessary, we can change over from potatoes to onions and back in half a day. We lift the potatoes in four rows and pick up the onions in two rows. That is much calmer than lifting with a trailed harvester. We recouped the investment in the onion swath pickup within a year. Now it actually only makes us money. We have had the Varitron with the Fentum onion swath pickup for four years now and we are very pleased with it. It is simply a top machine!"
